BUSCH GARDENS [ TAMPA BAY AREA]: A Must Visit Day

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT SEA WORLD AND BUSCH GARDENS are owned by the same company so joint ticketing arrangements exist which will work out cheaper if you plan to do the two!!

Advertised as "From Wildlife to Wild Rides", Busch Gardens is a combination of Theme Park and Safari Zoo. The park has some world class thrill rides for those who seek an adrenalin rush, but there is also plenty to satisfy those with more sedate tastes and some beautiful wooded walks allowing you to get up close to some of the wild life—see Flamingos at their peaceful best just lazing the day away. So from the Amazing SheiKra to the peaceful and tranquil flamingos Busch Gardens has it all —the smell and taste of Africa, the adventure of being able to see wild [and sometimes rare animals] close up and fine foods not to mention thrills and spills of some superb old style and new style rides— including several VERY WET ones too!!

The drive from any of our registered villas in the KISSIMMEE area is a good hour and it is recommended that you make a full day of your trip by starting out before the rush hour which can be a bit hectic to say the least: for this reason I would recommend that you leave this theme park until later in your stay when you are more familiar with the roads and drivers etc . Most of the rides are very similar to ones at Disney and Universal, and it will take a very full day to see everything once you get there. Everything is the med around an African Adventure although some of the African links are tenuous to say the least. That said what ‘s in a name—if the ride and the thrill is good who cares about its title so long as you remember it for all the right reasons.

Tanganyika Tidal Wave Click for Details is a peaceful jungle journey aboard a 20-passenger boat which all climaxes with a sudden plunge down a 55 foot drop! You will get wet on this ride, but it soon dries in the Florida heat.

Stanley Falls Click for Details This is a log flume ride with a 40fooy drop –ideal for all those from 2 [minimum age] to 92 or maybe 102—wet you will be for sure but great family fun.

Kumba Click for Details - is a typical high adrenalin roller coaster with plunges turns and twists with substantial loops and falls—do it before lunch--PLEASE.

Gwazi Click for Details - Busch Gardens Tampa Bay 's mammoth double wooden coaster. It is also the Southeast's largest and fastest double wooden roller coaster boasting more than 1.25 million board feet of lumber and over 2 million bolted connections. Named after a fabled lion with a tiger's head, Gwazi races riders through almost 7,000 feet of track and is two distinct coasters intertwined. Gwazi Tiger has an element that gives riders a slalom sensation more like a bobsled than a wooden coaster. The Gwazi Lion's highlight is a seemingly continuous number of spirals.

Montu – Click for Details A roller coaster where your legs hang free above and below you as your body contorts in the vertical loops with unbelievable speeds in excess of 60 mph. Thrilling contortionalistic pleasure. F eel the ultimate rush on Montu - one of the tallest and longest inverted roller coasters in the world. Experience the thrill of an inverse diving loop and a 60-foot vertical loop while you endure speeds of over 60 miles per hour and a G-force of 3.85. . The only question to be asked— HOW DID I SURVIVE THAT? However you are certain not to be alone so be prepared for long queues if you want to ride this one.

SheiKra - Click for Details TRULY exhilarating –if you dare look you will see the park in all its glory from the amazing height of 200ft—but beware you will be dropping horizontally some 130ft within a nano second—so if you want a new hairstyle and a thrill a minute this has to be a must visit for you but try time your arrival as queues can be long.

Congo River Rapids- Click for Details - a rapid river ride on a 12 seat raft—guaranteed to give you a soaking as the Congo takes its revenge on you with speed and rapid falls not to mention those water guns from above manned by ”‘your friends”.

Cheetah Chase Click for Details - challenge the crazy curves and hairpin turns of Cheetah Chase. This five-storey family coaster takes you on an adventure in the heart of exotic Timbuktu .
